Offline · On-Device Color Lab

Mix, measure and master color — without a single upload.

Chroma Studio brings palette building, harmony theory and real pigment mixing into one studio that lives entirely on your device. Build with color like you'd build with pigment — deliberately, with numbers to back every instinct.

Four rooms, one studio

Everything a colorist actually reaches for.

No feeds, no accounts, no sync required. Chroma Studio is organized the way a working color practice is: a place to store what you've built, a place to explore theory, a place to mix real pigment, and a place to actually learn the rules you're bending.

01 — VAULT

Palette Vault

A permanent home for every palette you build, tagged, moody-boarded and ready to reuse.

  • Name, tag and annotate palettes with proportions for each color
  • Preview a palette inside abstract layouts before committing to a real piece
  • Pull a palette straight out of any photo via on-device color quantization
  • Group into collections and compare two palettes on brightness, saturation, temperature and contrast
  • Export as a hex list, CSS variables or raw RGB
02 — LAB

Harmony Lab

An interactive color wheel at the center of it all — drag a hue and every relationship recalculates live.

  • Complementary, analogous, triadic, tetradic, split-complementary and monochromatic schemes
  • Convert freely between HEX, RGB, HSL, HSB, CMYK and LAB, with notes on where each belongs
  • Build tint, shade and tone ramps, and compare gradient interpolation across RGB, HSL and LAB
  • Check WCAG AA / AAA contrast at normal and large text sizes
  • Simulate protanopia, deuteranopia and tritanopia to catch colors that collapse together
  • Score any palette on harmony, contrast and balance with concrete fixes
03 — BENCH

Mixing Bench

Subtractive math for real paint — because pigment doesn't behave like a screen.

  • Combine artist pigments in adjustable parts and preview the resulting mixture
  • Reference library of pigment index codes, transparency, lightfastness, undertone, staining and granulation
  • Muddy color warnings flag mixtures that will collapse into brown-grey
  • Search a target color for a 2–3 pigment recipe with proportions and a Delta E accuracy reading
  • Generate a pairwise mixing chart, keep a mixing log, and track paint inventory and cost by surface area
04 — ACADEMY

Color Academy

Twelve topics across three levels — theory you can actually feel through the wheel.

  • From what color is, through color models, mixing, contrast, temperature, psychology, composition and branding
  • Each topic pairs theory with a live wheel demo, common mistakes and a five-question quiz
  • Reference library on Itten, Munsell, Goethe and NCS systems, the seven Itten contrasts and 250+ term glossary
  • Historical palettes from eight eras, and a competency radar showing exactly where your gaps are

About Chroma Studio

🎨We're a small studio of illustrators, print designers and a couple of stubborn oil painters who got tired of switching between six different apps just to pick a palette, check a contrast ratio, and figure out which two tubes of paint would get us the green we actually wanted. Chroma Studio is the tool we wished existed: one color laboratory instead of a scattered toolkit.

🧪Our mission is simple — put real color science in the hands of people who work with color every day, without asking them to become colorimetry experts first. Every conversion, every harmony rule, every pigment recipe in Chroma Studio is built on the same math that professional colorists use, translated into something you can drag, tap and see change in real time.

🌈Inside, you'll find a Palette Vault for everything you build and pull from your own photos, a Harmony Lab where a live color wheel does the theory for you, a Mixing Bench that predicts how real pigments behave when they meet on a palette knife, and a Color Academy that turns twelve dense topics into interactive lessons you actually retain. It's built for the moment you're standing in front of a canvas, a layout, or a brand guide and need an answer now.

Color, understood — one wheel at a time. 🎨

Privacy Policy

Nothing leaves your device. Ever.

Effective Date: August 2026
🔒

Chroma Studio is built to work entirely on-device. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, usage data, or content you create — including the palettes, pigment recipes, photos you extract colors from, and quiz results you generate inside the app. Everything stays exactly where you made it: on your device.

01

Information We Collect

None. Chroma Studio has no account system, no sign-up, and no form asking for your name or email. We don't collect device identifiers, location data, analytics events, or crash telemetry. Palettes, pigment logs, mixing charts, quiz scores and photo-derived colors are created and read locally — we never see any of it.

02

How We Use Information

Since nothing is collected, nothing is used, analyzed, profiled or sold. There is no advertising engine and no usage analysis running in the background. Every feature — palette scoring, color conversion, mixing recipes, contrast checks — is calculated on your device and the result never travels anywhere.

03

Data Storage

Your palette vault, pigment inventory, mixing log and academy progress are stored in local app storage on your device only. There is no cloud database behind Chroma Studio, no remote server, and no automatic backup to any external service. If you back up your device through your operating system, that backup is entirely under your control.

04

Third-Party Services

Chroma Studio contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, and no embedded trackers of any kind. The app doesn't make network calls to share your activity, and it doesn't bundle any software development kit that phones home on your behalf.

05

Data Security

Because your color data never leaves your device, the biggest security risk it faces is the same one your device already manages — physical access and your operating system's own protections. We keep our on-device processing minimal and self-contained specifically to avoid introducing new exposure.

06

Children's Privacy

Chroma Studio does not knowingly, or otherwise, collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because the app collects no data from any user, it does not raise the concerns COPPA and similar regulations are designed to prevent.

07

Your Control

You are the only party with access to your palettes, mixing recipes and progress — there is nothing on a server for us to hand over or for you to request. Deleting the app deletes its local data with it. There are no accounts to close and no backups sitting on our systems.

08

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves, for instance to describe a new local-only feature. Any revision will update the effective date above. Because our core commitment — no collection, no transmission — won't change, updates here will mainly be clarifications.

09

Contact

Questions about this policy can be sent to privacy@chromastudioapp.com. We're happy to walk through exactly how any feature works on-device.
